Get exclusive insights on how you can prepare your business for the Radio Equipment Directive
On 13th June 2016, the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) came into effect across the EU. Manufacturers with products compliant with the R&TTE directive, and products which are newly under the scope of the RED, must be compliant with the RED by 13th June 2017 to continue to place these products on the market.
The RED includes a long list of changes from the R&TTE directive, the inclusion of broadcast receivers and a wider range of transmitting frequencies than its predecessor the R&TTE Directive are worth noting. Manufacturers, importers and distributers of radio transmitting and receiving equipment within the EU will need to be fully aware of all of these to avoid disruption to their trading on the European market.
