- 1. Technical regulations on energy efficiency of electric ovens
This Technical Regulation, approved by Resolution No. 14287, establishes the energy efficiency requirements necessary to classify electric ovens according to their energy consumption. It also establishes provisions on the labelling of electric ovens and the additional information that is to accompany these products, with an intention of preventing risks to human life and safety and the environment, and practices likely to mislead users. It applies to mains-powered electric ovens marketed in Ecuador, whether manufactured domestically or imported. It does not apply to ovens powered by other forms of energy, portable ovens, microwave ovens, or combination microwave ovens.
The Regulation has been approved and comes into force on 4 February 2015.
- 2. Technical regulations for printing and scanning equipment
This resolution approves mandatory technical regulation RTE INEN 202 on printing and scanning equipment. The technical regulation applies to printers, photocopiers, fax and scanners falling within the Harmonized System (HS) codes specified in the table in section 2. Covered equipment must comply with the requirements set out in the in-force version of IEC 60950-1. The requirements relate to product safety, labelling that includes the product’s country of origin, testing and certifying conformity.
The Regulation has been approved and comes into force on 5 February 2015.
