Relevant for: Electrical & electronics
The European Directive 2014/35/EU relating to electrical equipment came into force on 19 April 2014.
The new directive allows a transition period until 20 April 2016. Therefore the old directive remains valid up to this fixed date and all certificate types referring to the old directive remain applicable until this date. Besides the existing certificate types, there are now additional certificate types referring to the new directive 2014/35/EU available:
N5A: voluntary attestation of compliance for products falling below the voltage limits as defined in LVD
N8A: voluntary attestation of conformity according to the LVD
N8MA: voluntary attestation of conformity according to LVD for machines
The existing certificate types remain applicable until the end of the transition period.
