The TÜV SÜD UK Group is delighted to announce that Paul Hastings has been appointed to the role of Managing Director of TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman. This promotion reflects our desire to develop and grow our Vertical Transportation and Façade Access business.
Paul takes on this role from 1st June 2019 and will continue to be based out of our Sheffield office.
Brian Austin, CEO stated “This is a well-deserved appointment reflecting Paul’s many years of service and deep understanding of the vertical lift sector.
Allan McGill, Divisional Director of the Real Estate Division stated “it is with great pride to hand over to Paul and yet again promote from within, which in turn allows me to return to my Divisional role and support both TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman and our MEP business with their future growth plans.
Commenting on his new role Paul said “I’m delighted to assume the Managing Directors position, at what is an incredibly exciting time for the Vertical Transportation and Façade Access sector. We have ambitious plans to grow the TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman business and I look forward to working with our dedicated team in realising these ambitions.”
Paul completed his indentured apprenticeship in the lift industry in 1992, and as an engineer focused on bespoke refurbishment of existing installations. He progressed quickly to Area Technician covering sites across the Yorkshire and Humber regions. Promotion to the role of Test Engineer saw him involved in the commissioning of both new and refurbished installations before becoming Lift Services Manager responsible for 35 lift Engineers carrying out maintenance, installation and refurbishment of lifts and disabled access equipment now covering the NW, NE, East Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber.
Paul joined Dunbar Boardman as a Consulting Engineer in November 2011 working from the Sheffield office and was promoted in 2014 to Regional Director responsible for the Leeds and Sheffield offices. Paul’s regional responsibility expanded to cover offices in Warrington in the NW in 2017 and further again to include NE and Scotland the following year. Prior to this latest promotion Paul was Regional Director of TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman, responsible for the Central England region with offices in Birmingham, Warrington, Sheffield and Leeds.
