The international technical services company TÜV SÜD recently appointed Michael Valente new CEO of the Western Europe region: With effect from the beginning of April 2013, the 55 year old manager has taken over responsibility for the third largest region in the TÜV SÜD Group: in 2012, the Western Europe region generated revenue of almost EUR 200 million –
a year-on-year growth of some 30 per cent, not least due to numerous company acquisitions. The company plans to further expand its presence in this region over the next years.
“I look forward to consolidating our position in the major economies in Western Europe, growing the business further through completing additional acquisitions and building an even more effective business network throughout the region. I see many profitable opportunities in the region.”, says Valente.
In Michael Valente, TÜV SÜD has found a CEO Western Europe with extensive international experience: Valente joined the TÜV SÜD Group in 2001, initially as Managing Director of TUV SUD’s NEL business in United Kingdom. In 2010 he took over the role of running the Group's entire UK business. Just prior to joining TÜV SÜD, he spent ten years working for Aggreko, a leading international services company, where latterly he was responsible for their international power projects business and travelled extensively around the world.
He started his career with the oil major Shell and lived in both The Netherlands and in The Middle East for eight years. Michael Valente holds a degree in Physics from the University of St Andrews as well as a Master of Business Administration from Strathclyde University in Glasgow.
