Two passenger lifts were completely replaced for new state-of -the-art, larger capacity lifts. The new installations incorporate heavy-duty reliable equipment, whilst maintaining a robust aesthetic appearance in keeping with a social housing setting.
The Elm View project is part of a large-scale capital investment plan, which includes all five tower blocks on the Woodlands site for Nottingham City Homes. This commenced with Ash View in 2015, with Oak View, Elm View due for completion in August 2017. The remaining tower blocks, Pine View and Willow View, will commence late autumn 2017, being due for completion in late 2018.
Being of obsolete design, the original Express lifts on this site, had come to the end of their operational life. With a view to future-proofing the site against access requirements, the new lift designs are increased in size, capacity and operating speed.
All utilised equipment has a 20 – 25-year life expectancy and is of robust design, offering greater loading capacity and operating speed for improved passenger handling now and for future residential needs.
