Full modernisation of existing 8 x Otis passenger lifts and 1 x Otis Pass/Goods lift within the existing lift shafts and machine rooms. Full Spec, Tender, Project Management, Contract Management, CDM Roles and Witness Testing duties by TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman.
The Project was handed over in November 2016 and TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman involvement was over a period of 5-years from start to finish.
Key Design Features – The eight passenger lifts are arranged 4 facing 4 in a common lobby area. The 4 x Low Rise lifts serve up to floor 17 and the 4 x High Rise lifts serve up to floor 24 and the lifts were originally not interconnected and had their own control system. It was possible to call 2 lifts to certain floors to answer a landing call placed by one person and the system was outdated and inefficient.
The new control system links all 8 passenger lifts together on an efficient group Destination Control System. The required floor destination is registered at the entry floor and there are no push buttons inside the lift car for registering the destination floor. The landing call requirements are methodically calculated and the most efficient and best available lift is despatched to answer the landing call.
The lift car lighting is LED and shuts down when not needed, as do the lift indicator systems.
