We are delighted to have a strong and long standing working relationship with Albyn School having been involved with their redevelopment and refurbishment programme over many years. This recently culminated in the formal opening of the final phase of work which included a new main entrance. The design brief from the school was they wanted a main entrance with a ‘wow factor’ to improve the arrival experience and to create a strong brand and identity.
The lighting design Wallace Whittle came up with delivered that subtly utilising the corporate green colour branding of the school and mixing it with the latest LED lighting technology to produce a high visual impact.
In addition to the creation of a new main entrance the project included a new nursery, new laboratories for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics with Technology, a new Classroom block, a library renovation and a re-model of some of its Victorian buildings all of which were undertaken whilst the school was still open and functioning which made the project very challenging from a servicing perspective.
