TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle have an outstanding track record in undertaking Energy Strategies. An Energy Strategy is often a Planning Application requirement where an energy or carbon dioxide reduction target is required.
TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle’s knowledge and understanding of Energy Policy at National, Regional and Local level allows us to inform the design team of the most suitable methodology of achieving the Planning Policy requirements.
We have extensive experience in undertaking Energy Strategies since first concepts of the Merton Rule through to the Energy Hierarchy now most commonly adopted.
Display Energy Certificate
As part of the same legislation as Energy Performance Certificates, Display Energy Certificates (DECs) were introduced for public properties to highlight and monitor energy consumption once the building is occupied.
The DEC shows the energy performance of a building based on actual energy consumption. It is valid for one year and must be updated annually. Like the EPC, the DEC is also shown on a graph from A-G.
The Advisory report which accompanies the DEC provides a range of recommendations aimed at improving the energy consumption and lowering the DEC rating.
TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle are fully qualified to carry out DECs in England and Wales.
Energy Management and Benchmarking
The sharp increase in energy prices affects both building owners and its occupants. Business’s financial bottom line, whether small or large are affected by the cost of fuel supply. TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle have a significant track record of reducing business’s energy consumption through our Energy Audits. Our Energy Audits range from individual buildings to large estates analysis.
TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle’s approach is to undertake a site audit, conduct an analysis of meter readings and bills, undertake and produce a recommendations report and complete a predicted energy savings analysis. We can provide an ongoing energy monitoring service to ascertain that the recommendations are achieving their reduction targets.
TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle’s extensive building benchmarking approach also allows us to compare types of buildings and companies. This allows a comparison as to how a building should be operating under normal or good practice levels.
