TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle were appointed to provide MEP Design Services and supporting infrastructure for the £120M Training Academy project for Manchester City Football Club.
The project incorporates high emphasis upon sustainable and renewable engineering technologies, including Tri generation systems, Absorption Chillers, Combined Heat & Power Systems - exporting electricity internally and externally to the grid, Air Source Heat Pumps, Rainwater Harvesting, Bore Hole Water and LED lighting, amongst others with the project designed to the requirements of LEED Gold Standards.
The Manchester City Football Academy encompasses four main components: the North West Development, which consists of a 7000 seat Arena, MCFC Headquarters & Media Centre. The Central Training Facility, which consists of two football pitches (one open and one covered), team training facilities & accommodation and fitness and physiotherapy facilities including Hypoxic, Cryogenic, Hyperbaric and Hydrotherapy suites. The Facilities & Maintenance Building, 15 External Pitches and Site Wide Infrastructure.
