Collegelands is a 13 acre site to the east of Glasgow city centre which has lain vacant for many years.
TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle were appointed by Dawn Developments to become part of the masterplanning team to develop a multi-use site. This site included 550,000ft2 of office space and 570,000ft2 of residential and mixed use space including student residence, hotel and car park.
TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle developed a utility strategy which met the phased needs of the development. Starting from a vacant site with no existing provision a package was developed to allow the tendering of a multi-utility package covering electricity, water, gas and telecoms. Following the tender, Wallace Whittle assisted in the commercial dealings to deliver a package which minimised the initial capital expenditure.
A further package in relation to utility diversions in the areas surrounding the site was agreed.
TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle have continued the relationship with Dawn Developments and have been appointed building services designers for the office and car park.
