TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle are employed by Laing O’Rourke as Mechanical and Electrical Engineers for this large scale mixed use development consisting of 400 residential units, 500,000ft2 of retail development including 100,000ft2 of leisure units, 1,250 car park spaces and a 40,000ft2 Medical Centre.
The island site within the centre of Bury required major upgrading of the utilities infrastructure including electricity (HV and LV), gas, water and telecoms. Most notably a new 13 MVA electricity infrastructure was installed to service the site. The site also includes a site wide fire hydrant, sprinkler and alternative power system.
The value of the first phase of the project is £160M of a £350M total project value. Completion and handover of the first phase Blocks is July 2010.
