Client: Hub West / NHSGGC/ East Renfrewshire Council
Project Value: £12M
Eastwood Health and Care Centre is a key project for The East Renfrewshire Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP). The project has been taken to Financial Close at this time, however we have included it as experience as it is a recent HUB Healthcare / Community building which is designed to serve the local community.
The building will provide a range of primary care, clinical and social care and voluntary help services for the population of Eastwood under one roof. It will feature GP Services, Outreach clinics, Physiotherapy & Podiatry Services, Adult & Older Peoples Metal Health Services, Children & Family Services, Rehabilitation & Enablement Services, Voluntary and Independent Sector organizations and CHCP support staff and management.
TÜV SÜD Wallace Whittle successfully performed the following roles; Building Services Engineers, BREEAM Assessor and Sustainability Consultants. Whist also advising on such areas as Fire, Acoustics, FM, Life Cycle replacement and utilities.
An ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating and a ‘B+’ EPC energy rating were delivered for this project, which was achieved utilising roof mounted Photovoltaic’s.
A key driver was to fall in line with the SFT Reference Community Healthcare programmes which required the overall cost / programmes targets to be achieved fully.
We were involved at the early stage of the project to determine such areas as orientation of the building, external wall and window materials, which then allowed us to minimise the building services solutions and achieve the relevant energy performance for the building.
