TÜV SÜD will be sponsoring the ASBCI (Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry) technical seminar on the 6th June 2019 at Eastwood Hall, Nottingham.
This year’s topic is “The challenges of Risk Assessment and Product Development”.
TÜV SÜD and invited speakers will be sharing updates and learnings from key regulations, factory, material sourcing and risk assessments that are critical to apparel to enable companies to apply a risk assessment approach into their product development processes. The day will also include a ‘hands-on’ risk assessment workshop with product examples.
TÜV SÜD’’s key note speaker for the event is Mr Guru Prasad.
Guru has substantial experience with over 30 years in the textile field in analysing issues and giving suggestions for improvement in dyeing and printing. Guru has exposure to the testing of textiles (wet side) such as, fibre composition, colour fastness, identification of mercerised and unmercerised fabrics, pilling & degradability factors. Guru has also worked on how degradability can take place on cotton during bleaching process leading to oxy cellulose formation.
Now working for TÜV SÜD, as General manager – Technical Solutions (textiles), Guru analyses physical and chemical failures of clients and suggests solutions and alternates to chemicals. Guru also guides the supply chain for Oekotex, GOTS & ZDHC certifications.
Claire Franco, Global Technical Account Manager at TÜV SÜD said, “As product requirements and customer expectations on quality increase, the use of a risk assessment from the initial product development stages from concept as well as material and factory sourcing are as important as risk assessing your product for foreseeable use.”
TÜV SÜD’s team of experts will also be conducting a Q&A session to support delegates with the necessary information to ensure they are complying with regulations and standards.
