As of the 1st November 2018 the TQM Requirements version 2 will come into affect.
The TQM scheme was created by mastercard to ensure that the functionality of chip terminals, as certified during type approval testing by EMVCo, can be sustained throughout a manufacturing cycle.
If you are a vendor of credit- or debit-card terminals and participate in a Terminal Integration Programme (or TIP) with Mastercard there are multiple changes in the requirements which could affect your TQM certification and which you should consider prior to the renewal of your TQM label. Some of the important elements that you must consider are:
- The scheme will require all design and manufacturing facilities to be ISO 9001:2015 (or equivalent) certified
- All vendors must be identified and categorized as Cat 1, 2 or 3 and where appropriate measures (including auditing or their operations) shall be implemented to manage and monitor their deliverables to you
