EEF has chosen TÜV SÜD Product Service as its preferred supplier for machinery and equipment safety technical support for members.
EEF is the most powerful force behind UK manufacturing, helping over 2000 members to ensure that they meet their regulatory commitments and business objectives. Members of the EEF include BAE, Land Rover and Rolls Royce.
TÜV SÜD will support EEF members with their machinery safety compliance and legislative requirements by providing technical advice, as well as CE marking and training services. This will include the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), which requires machinery owners to carry out risk assessments to ensure that equipment can be used without putting end-users at risk.
Steve Jackson, EEF’s National HSCE Manager, says: “EEF is dedicated to the future growth of manufacturing and we are certain that TÜV SÜD’s unrivalled level of machinery safety experience will help our members keep pace with the demands of ever changing legislation. Achieving this requires seamless quality in both manufacturing and operations and TÜV SÜD’s advisory, testing and training services can support members at every stage.”
Paul Laidler, Business Director for Machinery Safety at TÜV SÜD Product Service, says: “Manufacturers need to be sure that their equipment will guarantee high productivity and operator safety. We are looking forward to working with Steve Jackson and his team to deliver this comprehensive and essential support service to ensure EEF members experience minimal downtime, high productivity and efficient resource usage. This is a very exciting initiative for TÜV SÜD and we hope this is the start of a long and fruitful partnership.”
