On 10th October 2014, Armenia signed "Agreement on Eurasian Economic Union" and will become a member of the Customs Union (CU) effective on 1st January 2015. The transition period from the National Type Approval scheme to the Customs Union scheme and the full impact have not yet been advised, however the Eurasian Commission is currently working on harmonization efforts of EMC and Safety standards. Customs Union Approval will be recognised by Armenian customs on 1st January 2015, but until further notice National Level Type Approvals will still be required in Armenia. In addition to this RF compliance is still to be determined by National Regulators.
About the Customs Union
The Customs Union was formed between the Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan on 1st July 2010. The EA Customs Union (EAC) Approval is a singular harmonized Approval Certificate for EMC and Safety and covers all member states in the Union.
