TUV SUD NEL, the flow measurement R&D specialist, has launched two industry-wide collaborative projects to address the impact that evolving real-world conditions have on flow meter performance, as it believes that significant measurement errors are costing the oil and gas industry approximately $7million per day.
TUV SUD NEL and the Arabian Calibration Company (ACC) have signed a long-term agreement to deliver meter calibration and flow measurement services within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The agreement will see TUV SUD NEL supporting ACC in the creation and ongoing delivery of a number of services, including fixed and mobile calibration capabilities, and flow measurement services such as audits, uncertainty studies, meter selection and training. The longer-term goal of both parties is the development of measurement capability within the KSA, using Saudi nationals for the provision of these services.
NEL, the flow measurement R&D specialist, is the first laboratory in the world to invest in 2D flow visualization technology, as part of its continual programme to deliver industry-leading test facilities.
