The measurement of fluid flows is vital to everyone – from primary energy production through to personal consumption. As an oil and gas producer, accurate flow measurement is vital to the UK economy, enabling the government, energy producers and energy users to trade confidently. At a personal level we consume energy in our homes and vehicles, so measurement of gas flows and fuel flows at petrol stations impacts us financially. Many of the products that we consume require measurement of fluid flows but this may not be obvious to all industry users. For example, measurement of the flows of utilities such as water, steam, compressed air and gas are essential for controlling and optimising production of foodstuffs, chemicals and a wide range of consumer goods. Flow measurement also has a vital role to play at the environmental level too, for the accurate determination of emission and the management of water resources.
Back by popular demand, this webinar will stress the importance of flow measurement, provide a brief review of flow metering technologies, and highlight the importance of traceable calibration. This event will demonstrate to both technical and non-technical professionals alike, how accurate flow metering can bring financial benefits to any company where fluid flows are important.

She has worked on the design, modification and upgrade of TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory’s National Standard flow facilities and is the technical lead of the multiphase test facility. She is also an authority on measurement uncertainty and had a lead role in the European Joint Research Project ENG58– the world’s first comprehensive multiphase intercomparison. Terri is currently undertaking an Engineering Doctorate with Coventry University and studying multiphase flow measurement of complex heavy oil and emulsified flows.
