NEL’s Managing Director, Dr Brian Millington, has been appointed Honorary Professor at Coventry University.
Brian takes up this role with immediate effect and will act as an advisor to the University’s Vice-Chancellor, primarily in the field of oil & gas.
Brian has been a pioneer in the field of multiphase flow measurement research and development worldwide for the last 30 years and will bring this experience to support the University as they develop and implement strategic commercially-focused activities. He is currently spearheading the development of a UK network of research organisations and universities to develop collaborative research capability in the oil & gas sector.
Coventry University combines a broad base of academic excellence and expertise, with a focus on applied research, innovation, knowledge transfer and service provision. Brian joins a Group of outstanding individuals in business and commerce to support the outward-looking activities of the University.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to work with Coventry University” said Dr Millington. “They are a hugely refreshing organisation to work with and have very strong aspirations to develop their oil & gas research capability. I am looking forward to working with them to support their long-term sustainable goals”.
With skill shortages in the engineering sector, this opportunity will bring a talent-pool to TÜV SÜD in general, and in particular will support the NEL’s continued business growth in oil and gas. It will greatly enhance NEL’s reputation as the leading authority in flow measurement technology worldwide.
