Design & Commissioning
We use this expertise to help companies design and construct the best measurement solutions for their businesses. We have a particular focus on cost-savings and process efficiency improvements.
Our expertise helps deliver our clients’ goals in areas such as operating range, flexibility, accuracy and robustness. We can undertake a new design, review current plans or work with an existing design. Our services also include design of flow calibration facilities, infrastructure modelling (to assess any capability gaps) and training (to ensure that the new equipment is installed and operated effectively).
Our past design-consultancy projects include:
- Unmanned, fully automated offshore platforms.
- Multi-phase flow measurement meters.
- Sampling systems.
- Produced water measurement systems
- Design of flow calibration facilities
- And many more...
Stage 1 Concept Design Study
An initial concept design study provides customers with Pre-FEED recommended options to progress to a detailed design. This includes discussion and guidance on the advantages and disadvantages of each option, as well as an estimation of costs for design and procurement.
Stage 2 Detailed Design Specification and Recommendation

Stage 3 Purchase and Construction
The purchase and construction phase includes the creation of operating procedures and calibration procedures as well as a documented quality management system.
Stage 4 Commissioning and Traceability
Upon completion of the build, TUV SUD NEL can provide guidance on a series of commissioning tests to confirm successful and safe operation and support a series of work packages to provide evidence for any required accreditation.
